A versatile musician, Neusa Prado Kervel has worked for over thirty years as a pianist, accompanist, chamber musician, choir director, and piano teacher in two countries and three languages. With a Bachelorís Degree in Piano Performance from UFRGS - Porto Alegre, RS/ Brazil - and a Masterís from the University of Miami, she has been pursuing further studies as a Suzuki teacher, following her strong desire to enable the very young child to play the piano with correct posture and beautiful tone from the start - this has been the most rewarding experience of her professional life.

While still a student at UM, she started her experience of the Suzuki Method playing for numerous teachers and guest teachers through the SASF (Suzuki Association of South Florida) as well as many private studios of Suzuki violin teachers. Very intrigued by the ability displayed by the Suzuki teachers to work with the three and four year olds and their Moms, after attending six Suzuki Teacher Training sessions all over the United States, nowadays she teaches her own Pre-Twinkle class modeled after her observations of the violin students, and of piano students featured during the Teacher Training sessions offered by the SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas), and the Piano Basics (Kataokaís followers, Dr. Suzukiís accompanist that along with his sister adapted the Violin Method for the Piano).

Observation of Suzuki students, personal experience, and creativity have resulted into a novel aproach to teaching basic piano skills to the very young with results most rewarding and enchanting as her studio grows more and more Suzuki. The very young children are playing beautifully created music with their parents in the true spirit of Suzukiís teachings, with respect, discipline, and commitment, displaying the makings of the truly noble human beings that Suzuki advocated as a cure for all human ills during his lifetime as a most remarkable and innovative pedagogue of the twentieth century.

As the children progress and become readers the C# Studio offers evaluations through its affiliations with FFMC (Florida Federation of Music Clubs) and MMTA (Miami Music Teachers Association). As highlights of her own career, in Brazil Neusa won three First Prizes in Piano Competitions, in the United States she was awarded a scholarship to study at UM, played for Bill Clinton during the Summit of the Americas, has kept up her involvement with the Miami community serving as a Board Member of the MMTA, also serving as a Theory Judge for Student Day - an MMTA event that allows students to be evaluated in performance, aural theory, written theory, keyboard skills, and sight reading.

She presently works with her beloved piano students and their families, and with her choir at KPUMC (Killian Pines United Methodist Church) in Miami.
